Russell Gooley is Narrogin's X Factor. Russell was born in Moora Western Australia, he lived in Armadale WA until age 13 then his family moved to Narrogin.

Russell lives in Narrogin with his wife Amanda, a beauty therapist, and 7 year-old daughter Shenae .

He works as a Supervisor at the Narrogin Regional Recreational Complex , and likes to spend his spare time with his family and mates, as well as singing and playing keyboard in his band Dialate, at this point in time their gigs are mainly confined to the garage!

Russell would like it if one day Shenae could say "my Daddy's famous"!

The X Factor is not Russell's first taste of stardom. His brother talked him in to entering The Duke of York Hotel's "Narrogin Idol" he paid the $10 entry fee for him saying he wanted $50 back if he won..He didn't disapoint, claiming the $750 winner's cheque - and he gave his brother the $50!

As a kid he sang at a couple of school graduations, and as a soloist in the Kelmscott Primary Choir (under the direction of Sally Christmas), he also performed in a SGIO concert in Perth.

Western Australia 's only representative in The X Factor, Russell is a self confessed sports nut, he plays Australian Rules football for the Narrogin Hawkes and dreams of winning a Grand Final.

Russell's mother passed away two 2 years ago and she will no doubt be in his thoughts as he makes his family, and Narrogin proud ,as he continues on his journey.
